A clifftop estate with a hall, gardens and a small zoo, with a visual story that points out where it's busy and where to go for quiet. You can borrow ear defenders and fidget toys, carers go free and there is a Changing Places toilet.
What they offer
- Visual guide or social storyA downloadable visual story written with autistic children and young people in mind, showing where there may be a lot going on and where to go for quiet
- Ear defenders or sensory kitA Neurodiverse Borrow Box with ear defenders and fidget toys from the Welcome Centre, 10am to 4pm
- Carer ticketCarers get free access to the estate when the person they support pays standard admission (a Blue Badge alone doesn't count)
- Changing Places toiletA Changing Places unit in the courtyard; ask at the Welcome Centre for a radar key
Quiet or relaxed times, quiet room or space, sensory map, queue support, staff training, quieter times to visit. We'll add these as soon as Sewerby Hall and Gardens publishes them. Until then, it's worth asking when you book.
